DIY Cassette of Back 2 The Oldskool

Want to make your own DIY cassette of our Back 2 The Oldskool compilation? Here are the files and step-by-step instructions.

    DIY

Back 2 The Oldskool was our most recent compilation released on September 5th, 2026. This compilation was an oldskool breakcore comp with some amazing artists on it!

We are starting a trend with this one at Deformat of making this release fully available in physical release in the form of DIY. In this post, you will find instructions on where to get the files and how to do it!

    What Will We Do?

Make your own cassette release by dubbing the two side audio files. Designed for a C90 cassette with buffer time. About 42 Minutes per side.

The files you will need can be found here:
    https://archive.org/details/back-2-the-old-school-diy-tape

There are 3 Different Covers to choose from; each is printable via a separate PDF file.

Here is how you do it:

    Instructions:

    1. Find a suitable-sized tape (90 minutes)
    2. Dub Side A, flip, Dub Side B
    3. Choose Your J-Card Print File
    4. Print The J-Card
    5. Cut out the J-Card
    6. Fold the J-Card
    7. Enjoy

    NOTES:

    • You may need to cut the J-Card’s reverse side to fit in some cassette cases; because of this, the artist/tracklisting information was left near the top.
    • Folding can (and maybe should) be done before cutting to use the guard lines
    • Note the small white border if choosing the black design
    • You can definitely make as many of these as you want to hand out
    • Tag us in a post if you want! @deformat.records on IG

    More DIY

In the future, particularly with our compilations, we will release more DIY releases. While making some to sell may be a way to fund more projects, we will always do our best to keep our music as accessible to all as possible.
