Damian (Apetactics) is a Switzerland-based electronic sound designer and artist specializing in Ambient IDM. His journey began in 2004 with his first synthesizer, sparking a lifelong fascination with sound generation. To ground his passion in technical expertise, he completed audio engineering school in 2009, refining his skills in critical listening while producing.
Driven by glitch aesthetics and complex polyrhythms, his work translates intricate digital synthesis into evolving, immersive sonic landscapes and alive beats. Damian (Apetactics) utilizes a hybrid studio setup, fusing modular synthesizers with custom software patches and organic field recordings, and loves samplers for manipulating found sound.
Known for his raw approach, he focuses on performing one-take recordings that capture the unpredictable energy of hardware manipulation, backed by a precise sense of good timing at manual trigger playing. These sessions are video-recorded to show an honest performance.
